UP ON THE HILL

The inn of Clochemerle

Auberge de Clochemerle is a gourmet restaurant perched on top of a hill, in the heart of the village of Vaux en Beaujolais.

Thanks to the talents of Romain and Delphine Barthe, Ele has become an unmissable address whose simple evocation enlivens the taste buds.
In 2007, Romain and Delphine Barthe were looking for a place to create a restaurant in their image. When they visit the Auberge de Clochemerle, they are immediately seduced by its setting and its possibilities, not to mention the variety of Beaujolais landscapes.
Their previous experiences have led them to rub shoulders with the summits in Valais, Switzerland. This hill will be their Everest. Romain will be chef and Delphine, sommelier, each in his place, with his talents and his specialty to achieve a score for four hands and achieve the perfect harmony.
A large bright room welcomes guests served by attentive staff. A cozy lounge invites you to read and chat in the depths of winter. For the more distant travelers, ten spacious and completely renovated rooms have a view of the hills and the vineyard. A shaded terrace can accommodate summer gourmets.
The colors chosen are warm and bright. The shapes are rounded and elegant.
Located on the edge of vineyards and forests, the Auberge offers its guests hikes in the hills or winegrower's days with gourmet picnic and technical conversations with Monsieur Longère, winegrower at Perréon and specialist in Beaujolais vineyards.
